Thomas Nee, president of the Boston Police Patrolmen's Association (BPPA), announced that the BPPA will not picket outside the Fleet Center during the DNC. Word is that the decision was made last month when the BPPA realized it won't be able to get close to the delegates because of security concerns.
Nee went out of his way to praise Senator Kerry's honoring of the BPPA picket line at the U.S. Conference of Mayors. He said the BPPA members now put Kerry on a pedestal for supporting them. Because of that show of support by Senator Kerry, the Boston Globe reports Nee's saying, "I am not going to block John Kerry from doing anything."
Can you believe the arrogance of this man? HE is not going to block John Kerry. HE is going to allow John Kerry to enter the DNC building. HE will allow the democratic process to continue unimpeded.
What an insufferable, self-aggrandizing jerk.
If I were Menino, I wouldn't even talk to the guy. If the union got rid of him, they'd probably get a contract.
