Boston Audi Headlight Theft Continues

Audi_nolightsThe latest victim of Audi headlight theft is Dan G. of JP, who lost his A4 lights in his own driveway.

That's his Audi King Lear on the left.  Sorry, Dan.  I know it sucks.

UPDATE: As Autoblog points out, it was of course Gloucester who lost his eyes in Act III.  But the play is King Lear.  Hey, it's Carpundit, not Englishliteraturepundit.

I had my headlights taken 4 times within a year on well lit main roads in Cambridge. Audi USA customer advocates repeately told me that they never heard of this happening before. The police were even stepping up surveillance in my neighborhood. I now drive a Subaru. I loved my S4 and wish all you Audi drivers better luck.

The same thing is also happening to late model Porsche 911 drivers (the 996 model). The Litronic headlights can be removed without even opening the hood!! See a late issue of Excellence magazine about this. Also heard it's happening to may Nissan drivers.

Yeah this happens a lot. Happened to me. It sucks. Love the car too much to give it up. You can see numerous stories on bostonaudi.org forums and audiworld.com too. Its common knowledge to surfers of those sites and others.
nissan and lexus drivers are also being targeted now, guess they are running out of audi A4/S4's to pillage.

It really is annoying. My TT's headlight was stolen recently and it is darn expensive to replace! Not to mention it was parked in the Back Bay! I mean, c'mon. Audi predators are on the loose in Boston.

The headlights were stolen out of my grandparent's Toyota Prius and cost them 7K to get it fixed, well technically the insurance company 7K. Plus it took the dealer 6 weeks for the repair. This all happened in Beacon Hill which isn't the getto by any means. Also one of my friends had a lights ripped out of his Maxima in the parking lot at Logan airport, not sure on the extent of the damage but I know he wasn't too happy about it. I hope the Cops start kicking some a$% soon!

i had my headlights stolen out of my parking lot in boston. ive seen headlights missing tons of times. sound in motion installs shock sensors on the headlights along with hoodpin switches to make the alarm go off.

The headlights from my fabulous AUDI S4 have now been stolen twice from outside my home in Charlestown. I was shocked the first time and totally depressed the second time after paying my $1K deductible once again. The police said this larceny has been increasing but they have no solution. So, do I move or trade in my car??!

What have some other victims done? I have been forced into leaving my car at work in the garage and walking to/from work. HELP!!

Just happened to our A4 parked in an off-street lot in Somerville. Worried that our car has now been targeted and this will happen again.

DISGUSTING - Happened to me yesterday morning/night: wires dangling over bumper on my 2000 S4. This was the second attempt - this time successful - by thieves. Super brightly lit section of Mass Ave, one block from Harvard Square! They weren't too neat about it either, leaving huge dents in both fenders and bumper.

that's really disgusting ! ! !
