So Have You Heard About These New "iPod" Things?
My brother gave me a new iPod nano for my birthday last week, and I just got around to opening it; I have no idea how I lived without one. I've been making do with my iPod shuffle -I should say shuffles, because my wife and I have three between us- but I've never had a traditional-format iPod. You know, one with a click wheel and menus. This little nano is amazing.
Sure, it only holds 4GB of music, but that's roughly eight times what any one of our shuffles holds, and it sorts the stuff out for you. I mean, I threw together some playlists and put them on the nano, and it just goes ahead and categorizes them by artist, title, genre, and album name. Yeah, Yeah, I know. I'm two or three years behind the curve here and everyone knows all about it. Well, I "knew" about it, too, but I never had one. Having it and knowing it are two different things.
Bonus nano feature: full-color album cover images pulled out of the ether. Marvelous.

Welcome to the 21st century buddy.
You know they now have telephones that you can put in your pocket, and take with you...
Pretty spiffy...

Yes, aren't iPods wonderful! I got my first one 4 years ago, and it really brought music back into my life in a big way. I still have my second version, a 3G without the picture capability, but I plan to upgrade soon. Glad to see a new convert. (And by the way, do you have a Tivo yet? They're similarly wonderful, and very cheap these days.)
