Beater of The Week, II
Criticized for picking on the Cape Codders with last week's inaugural Beater, I offer this one, fresh from Back Bay. This VW Rabbit convertible (actually, by the time they made this one they'd taken Rabbit off the back end, but we all know the truth), is someone's daily driver and has the nicks and dents to prove it's a beater, not a collector. More after the jump.

Remember when those wheels were cool? I do. Now they just look like some sick cheese grater.
Note beater-standard scrapes and wheel neglect. Top looks good, though. Almost good enough to pull this out of beater status. Almost. If these cars had plastic rear windows, this one would be opaque; but glass doesn't fade. Click for larger, as always.

Isn't that your old car? Let's see the plates. You could buy that one, I could go get an old white Saab 99 and we could break traffic laws together.

I don't know what you're talking about.

Some memory of a black rabbit convertible in my rearview mirror...
Long ago...
Something about using a rotary as a skid pad...

Your mirror? Now I know you're making it up.

Yeah, rearview mirror.
Driving skill usually beats horsepower on those twisty little roads.
