Solve The Tunnel Woes, Create Jobs, House the Homeless, and Clean Up the Back Bay - All In One Move
Let's abandon the tunnels. It makes no sense to try to move that much traffic through weak concrete holes in the ground. I recommend we use the clear land above the tunnels to build an elevated highway that will carry traffic through Boston. So it won't be too much of an eyesore, we can paint it green and call it the Rose Kennedy Greenway (can't plant any trees there anyway). Two decks should do the trick - the upper deck for express lanes and the lower for local traffic. Think of the job creation!
As for the tunnels, let's convert them into housing for the homeless. Like the Golden Gate Bridge in William Gibson's future San Francisco, a whole community may spring up there. And it'll keep the homeless and their detritus off the Commonwealth Avenue Mall, where they don't belong anyway.

Excellent idea! I was going to suggest calling it the Central Artery, but Rose Kennedy Greenway is WAY better.

Also, the new North Station T stop is so impersonal, all cold and downstairs like that. Can we re-elevate that so you can stand out on a platform in the sun, and get a view of the Garden while you wait?

That's kind of cruel to be putting the homeless into the tunnels isn't it? Or is that part of the nefarious plan?

I do think it would be appropriate to secure the ceiling tiles first. I have no desire to injure anyone.
