Governor Romney long ago promised to eliminate the Sagamore rotary, and the work started years ago. It seems to be nearing completion, but every time I travel through (twice a week) the rotary is still there, with its traffic. Anyone know when it's going to be supplanted by the "fly-over"?
I have not been to Cape Cod in years, my vacation trips are to New Hampshire now for NASCAR.
The Sagamore rotary should be gone sometime early next year, but I will be surprised to see if that reduces conjestion (traffic tie ups), the project is ahead of schedule from what the news said...but from those photos, that traffic doesn't look any better now, than 10 years ago. Good Luck to anyone doing that commute and to anyone commuting into Boston too.
The traffic at the sagamore rotary hasn't gotten better yet because there's still a rotary everyone goes through. If you actually drive the rotary (which I do daily) you can see where the flyover will be, but they're not done connecting the local traffic part so that those of us who actually live here can still access the bridge and the highway... so, it's not operational yet.
