Welcome. You won't regret it.
( and remember, you can always live in your car but you can't drive your house.)
See you at the next NER PCA Event?

Most excellent car. Gotta love those hips.
1999-01 996 Cab w/ hardtop. Arctic silver.
Hopefully has extended warranty and problem-free RMS.
Congrats! Hope to own one someday myself.

Tell me what the 01 in 1999-01 means, please.
You called the details, except the warranty is my checking account.

You know, it was just my estimate of the model year range (1999-2001). I think those were the only years they came with black rear "bumperettes".

that's an expensive warranty !

Did you get service records with the purchase? If not any dealer should be able to pull up the records for you of any any all work done by a dealer since it's all on a central database. As you are certinly aware, service is not inexpensive but it needs to be done as per the schedule. There are reputable independent shops as an alternative, but it does not pay to try to maintain a 996 "on the cheap".
I'm not a big believer in extended warranttees, most of them are really just "Extra dealer Profit" and windup not covering whatever breaks.

You solve your garage/storage issues?
Posted by: Erik Schwartz | December 04, 2006 at 08:25 PM
Not really.
Renting. It's far too expensive to keep up, but for now....

Congratulations. Sadly, just in time for winter, I'll bet you will be pining for Spring.
