Getting A Break on Tolls With Fast Lane
I shouldn't call it a break, really, because the pricing is long-standing; I'm referring to the apparent revocation of the proposed increase, of course. If the governor really wanted to do the right thing with the Turnpike, he'd take down the tolls altogether, or at least those west of the 128.
Note: don't miss that it was the Turnpike staff who recommended ending the discount for Fast Lane users. Why? So there would be more money for them. It's hard work, you know. Sitting on a stool and being rude to people all day long for $60,000 a year is barely worth it.

What always annoys me is the $35.00 charge for each transponder. If they were serious about growing the use of Fast Lane they would follow the lead of New York and other E-ZPass States and make the transponder FREE. If they are not going to remove the tolls to get rid of the hacks as toll takers, let's at least automate those jobs into oblivion. ( OK -- So I'm not holding my breath either, All those relatives have to be put to "work" somewhere. ) At least they allow me to have my 3 transponders all under the same account.
And if I ever get a ticket in the mail for too high an average speed, the transponder gets returned.
