Well, it still leaks; and I probably shouldn't have started with "well," but there it is. Modern Continental can't fix the leaks in the umpteen-billion dollar tunnel under Boston. From the Boston Herald:
Modern Continental's problems reflect continued uncertainty over the best way to stop water infiltration from becoming a continual problem.
How about: build it correctly?
Then there's this, from the same article:
"We're still doing better than we predicted at this point,'' [Project Director Mike Lewis] said. ``Even with these new (leaks), we'll be done within the window we identified.''
Better than they expected? What did they expect, a water park? A boat dispenser at the tunnel entrance? "Strong Swimmers Only" signage? And if maybe I shouldn't have started off with "well," I guarantee Lewis shouldn't have said "window."
It's a tunnel.
